Plainsboro.COM network Uptime Statistics

This page is essentially identical to the stats I keep for the Comcast ewndsr1 head end, but it keeps data for my own network at Plainsboro.COM, using my default router (a Zyxel Prestige 310 cablemodem router) as the default gateway.

I'm keeping this data in a manner similar to how I keep the Comcast data, by simply pinging the default router once every 5 minutes and keeping a record of the pings. I keep this data essentially as a "control" or "comparison" group, to show that it is indeed possible for a default router to stay up for extended periods of time.

Follow this link to the end of this page for an explanation of how the graphs were created and how to interpret them.

August, 2000 statistics

In August 2000, there was only one single point of a failed ping during the month for plainsboro.com's default router. This failed ping occurred when I happened to be rebooting the router to try to determine a problem that in fact had to do with Comcast's network, not plainsboro.com's.

The solid blue line at level "2" shows the continuous uptime of the router for the month of August 2000.
