Word Whomp

Hi, all: Woohoo! A web page dedicated to Word Whomp!

As most of you already know, Word Whomp is a fun game on pogo.com. The idea of how to play is pretty easy, too: we are given 6 letters and are asked to form all the possible 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-letter words by rearranging the 6 given letters. An easy concept, but sometimes this can be a frustrating game to play especially if you have gotten all but one word and are stuck near the end--and the word turns out to be something obscure like "OBI" or "RAGA".

So what possible kinds of tips can you get from a web page on Word Whomp? Well, I have developed an interactive tool for hints in this game. I am in the process of collecting all the unique boards (there are a finite number of letter combinations that are used in a board). For each board, you can find the 6 letters in the list below (by spelling out all 6 letters in your head alphabetically and matching your current board with the corresponding letters). Then on the corresponding letter group, clicking on it will bring up a new window on your screen with a picture of your board with all the words covered. You must have popups enabled for this site in order for the new window to appear.

The new window will look like your current Word Whomp board. All the words are covered, but if you move your mouse into the window, as you move the cursor over each word, one word at a time will become uncovered. This way, when you are truly stuck on a puzzle, you can get a hint about that last word. Of course, some folks might use this method to discover ALL the words, but that's cheating! And I don't think that's what most of us want to do--we just want a little occasional hint.

If you don't find your board listed below, you can click on "New Game" until you get dealt a matching board, or you can keep checking this page as I will continually add new boards until hopefully I have all of them.

When you are done with the tip window, please close it by clicking on the close window "X" in the upper-right-hand corner of the window.
