Redesigned Web Sites

Before

Plainsboro.com was the first web site I owned, operated, designed, and maintained starting in 1995. Its original purpose was as a community web site for Plainsboro Township, New Jersey. I still own the site today, and I use it primarily as a portal for me and my friends and family, and as a platform for other miscellaneous web projects.

For the simple redesign of the Plainsboro.com home page, I used a background image of the USA over which I inserted my ubiquitous wundergound weather forecast images. Our instructor was fond of gradients, and I applied two to this page: one for the background and one at the bottom of the page. The white top of the page blends into the white background gradient and likewise the bottom blue background gradient flows into the gradient at the bottom of the page.

I find that this page changes often: as I write new articles I post a link here prominently. I also have begun to ditch the table-based design and placed the wunderground links more precisely on the background map using relative placement of divs.
