Redesigned Web Sites

Before

I'm a fan of the board game "Risk", and long ago in a galaxy far away I bought a version of the software for my Playstation 2.  After playing the game for awhile I discovered what seemed like some anomalies in the random number generator.  I therefore wrote a brute force C program to find definitive dice odds, wrote to the game company via email (and heard back), and then composed this page explaining the situation.  This page has been quite popular in the "Risk" community.  At one point, my code was being used in a class at a University (hopefully as a good example of brute force programming!).

After

This was my first-ever redesign project, one that I did around the middle of the web design course I took. Since our instructor was teaching table-based design, this design was made thusly. As my first design, I did some experimenting with styles, learned a couple tricks, and used a "span" tag for the first time (and finally understood what it does). Since the risk game appeals to a younger gaming audience, who seem to prefer "darker" web pages, I made the background of the page and the table very dark and used lighter text.
